"CodeSchule" is for children between 4 to 9 years of age and will teach them the basics of programming. Guidance is provided by professional programmers. Information about future "CodeSchule" are announced on this page, on Twitter #codeschule and on Facebook.
Any child that is interested in technology or programming can register. No previous experience in programming is needed, not from the child nor the guardian. The registration is valid only when it is confirmed from the organizer. Participation is free of charge. Places are limited.
We try to make CodeSchule fun for everyone, but we mainly target children between 4 and 9 years. Bring along your friends or siblings. One adult should accompany the children.
We provide snacks and drinks before and during the event for free. And after the participation each child gets a certificate.
We support all major platforms but prefer tablets with touch as this is the most intuitive way of control for the children.
It all started in Finland, when the parents that work for Reaktor wanted to teach their children programming. The first coding schools were arranged in helsinki in the autumn of 2013. The students have had the chance to get to know the computer and its abilities in detail. They have learned to draw, write and program with the help of a software that is called Turtle Roy.
Now code school opens its doors to new, enthusiastic programming students. The idea of an open coding school was born when the parents and enthusiastic future programmers no longer fitted in a single conference room. Furthermore, the word about code school has spread all around Europe and we are proud to announce the opening of the first German branch of children’s coding school.
After more than a year of "CodeSchule" in Germany we tried to make something new and different. So we build a new program to use during the lesson with the goal in mind, to make the children enjoy programming as we do.
